In 2001, Pastor Daniel Witte was called from Chicago, Illinois to start a mission church in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. The church was gifted 10 acres of land off Lorraine Road to begin their mission. The newly named Risen Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church first held services in 2002 in Tara Elementary School.
We next moved closer to our vacant land and held services in McNeal Elementary until 2008 when we broke ground on our building.
Through the efforts of the Builders for Christ and many others, we held our first service in our new building in November 2009.
In June 2016, we welcomed Pastor Caleb Free and his family to our church.
On March 25, 2018 we celebrated the completion of our building by holding a Grand Opening Service in the newly finished Sanctuary. After previously occupying just the fellowship hall, we now have three classrooms and are exploring the possibility of opening a preschool.
